So you’ve watched the Sewing Bee and would like to start sewing, well this is the perfect place to start. We will show you how to understand and use a commercial pattern, how to sew accurate seams, put in zips and stitch on facings, along with a whole lot more. You will make two garments over the course; an A line skirt with a waistband which can be lined and a shell top which can be lengthened into a tunic or even add sleeves to.

You will also learn how to adapt these patterns to create variations of your own. This is an excellent course to start you off in the right way and give you the confidence to try things at home on your own machines.

All your patterns and notions are supplied, all you need to do is bring along the fabric you’d like to make up your skirt and top in. Just call us and we can tell you how much fabric you will need. So you can raid your own stash or come and have a browse through all the lovely fabrics we have in our Sewing Emporium.

And of course there’ll be plenty of tea, coffee and homemade cakes to keep you sewing.

This great 6 week course was so inspiring. Jules' expert help, patience and friendly approach guided me through making 2 lovely items of clothing that I'll be proud to wear and has given me the confidence to have a go at making my first piece of clothing at home. Thoroughly recommend, thank you.
