Sewing with Silk - Camisole
No courses found.
Silk is the most gorgeous fabric to wear next to your skin, but it can be a bit tricky to work with for the uninitiated. However, in this workshop we will show you how to handle slippery silk fabrics to get the best results.

What you'll learn:
How to lay out the pattern pieces on to the silk fabric
How to cut out accurately
How to sew the right seams to use with a lightweight silk
How to insert lace
How to make rouleau loops
How to finish an edge

What you'll need to bring:
1m of 120cm or 140cm wide silk fabric. (This can be silk satin, crepe de chine, or any light weight silk. You can give us a call for more advice on 01789 330588.)

If you would like to include some lace on your camisole you can purchase some on the day from a selection we have in store or bring along your own.

What will be provided:
The pattern for your camisole
Threads and notions
A list of instructions
Plenty of tea, coffee and cake to keep you sewing.
