The Peaseblossom T Shirt

Description

Peaseblossom is from one of my favourite Shakespearean plays, A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

A boxy yet extremely comfortable T-shirt with three version to take you through all seasons and one you will want to make in every colour!

Version 1 is the romantic cowl neck - a soft drape that frames the face.

Version 2 is the everyday version with a round neck and separate neck band. It also looks great using two different fabrics - printed silk front and jersey back.

Version 3 has the V neck and is brilliant for layering over long sleeved tops.

Suitable Fabrics

Light weight jersey or drapey fabrics make up beautifully in this relaxed shape.

You will also need the correct needle for your fabric. A twin needle on your machine gives a great finish to the hems too.

starstarstarstarstarJust lovely - a good starting pattern for knit/Jersey fabric novice 13th Aug 2015
This was the second SMS pattern I made up and the first time I'd used a jersey fabric. I expected it to be disastrous as knit fabrics have such a reputation for being difficult to work with. I therefore embarked on the peaseblossom expecting it to be a learning exercise which would end up in the bin. Well, I couldn't have been more surprised! Apart from a few issues with laying out the fabric and cutting it out (fabric stretched every which way and my cutting mat is'nt really large enough), the t-shirt went together remarkably well! I made up the cowl neck version and the instructions were so clear, I couldn't really go wrong (thank you for including all those tips on working with knit fabric, including seam width and stitch settings - they were invaluable). The end result was a fantastic cowl neck t-shirt which is a fantastic fit, very flattering and has received several compliments. I'm now looking forward to making up the other versions.

This is a quick make with clear instructions. I made the cowl design, and chose a crepe. I'll be making more for everyday use, great little pattern. Thanks
starstarstarstarstarVersatile and easy to use pattern 17th Aug 2016
5 stars for Sew me Something's PeaseBlossom T shirt pattern. It had clear instructions and went together beautifully. I made version 2 in a lightweight jersey designer remnant and am thrilled with the drape and cut. The style is very like the shaped Ted Baker t-shirts, and I have already had one person assume the top I made was Ted's because of the fabric used. (Albeit less shaped at the waist) Both twenty something daughters are angling for tops too, so success all around! 😀 Thanks .

Fearful of the overlocker and jersey this was the perfect pattern to start with. Really easy instructions and so quick to make up.
