Emelia Dress Pattern
Emelia is from Othello and is the fated Desdemona's servant and companion. Emelia is also married to the dastardly Iago and is ill-used by him to implicate Desdemona in a false romance with Cassio.
She is loyal to her husband but has the courage to condemn both hin and Othello when she finds Othello has murdered his wife and her husband, Iago's part in the plot.
Our Emelia is similar to the fictional heroine in that she is strong and reliable.
The Emelia Dress is an everyday staple. Quick to make and easy to wear with a feature pleat at the centre front held in place with some decorative stitching. The tie cuff at the sleeve adds extra detail and the shirt style yoke at the back anchors another feature pleat at the back. The collar makes it slightly more formal, or you can keep it plain and simple without.
