We are very excited to have Sarah Hibbert, an internationally acclaimed modern quilter who will be joining us to run this Free Style Circular Patchwork workshop in our studio.

Free style patchwork is a form of improvisational piecing allowing your fabrics to decide where they should be pieced to make the best of them. It takes out the guessing game of choosing the right fabrics to go together. It is a prefect way of using up scraps from other projects or using those extra special pieces you have been saving for just the right project.

You will be matching your piecing up by size and not colour, building on each block as it grows, rather than colour combinations. The key to bringing the colours into a perfect balance is choosing the fabrics itself with a highlight accent to make that spark.

Trusts your instincts, this piece is designed for you so if you are happy with the colour palette then your job is done.

This technique is easily adaptable to either a grid pattern or a circular abstract pattern. In the workshop we will cover both ideas. The workshop will also cover basic quilting ideas for your piece together with binding.
