Slippy fabrics can feel gorgeous to wear next to your skin, but it can be a bit tricky to work with for the uninitiated. However, in this workshop we will show you how to handle slippery silky fabrics to get the best results.
WHAT YOU'LL LEARN
- How to lay out the pattern pieces on to the fabric
- How to cut out accurately
- How to sew the right seams to use with a lightweight slippy fabric
- How to insert lace
- How to make rouleau loops
- How to finish an edge
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO BRING
1m of 120cm or 140cm wide fabric. This can be silk crepe de chine, a printed viscose poly crepe satin or any light weight slippy fabric.
If you would like to include some lace on your camisole you can purchase some on the day from a selection we have in store or bring along your own. As this is an all day class you will need to bring some lunch with you.

The pattern for your camisole, all threads and notions, full instructions and plenty of tea, coffee and cake to keep you sewing!
