Welcome to our new look website

Thank you for your patience

We're SEW happy you're visiting

Come and join us for this wonderful introduction into the world of upholstery. This course is perfect for complete beginners. In the space of a day you will create a beautiful footstool that you can put your feet up on and relax in style - assuming your pet hasn't pinched it as a glamorous bed first!

We start the day by creating the look of your footstool. You can choose from waxes,
varnish and decorative nails, to go with your fabric and complete your final design.
With decisions made, you will apply the first coat of varnish or wax to the legs.

Next, you will be guided through the process of upholstering a solid base. Employing
a mix of modern and traditional upholstery techniques; shaping foam using calico,
adding polyester wadding and covering with your chosen fabric.

After applying a second coat of varnish/wax. You will be ready to add decorative
nails around the corners for that final flourish and attach the legs to complete your
very own footstool.

All the materials needed will be provided excluding the top fabric, which you will
bring with you. The top fabric needs to be of upholstery grade and please NO
VELVET as it is notoriously tricky to work with and could result in an uncompleted
piece.

When booking you will be asked to select from 4 styles of legs:
A. B. C. D. (See images for reference)

Finish size of footstool will be 10” wide, by 16” long, dependent on your chosen leg
style, height will vary
