Eco printing/Dyeing workshop

£75.00

Loading...

Eco-printing (or Botanical printing as it is also known) is a process by which the colours and shapes of leaves or other natural plant material are transferred onto fabric.

In this session, Jacqui will be sharing the techniques of natural dyeing on fabrics using a variety of leaves, onion skins, rust, and other interesting objects. You will be sure to go home with a collection of small samples showing some interesting shapes and colours that have been created through boiling and steaming your fabrics bundles.

Small samples are great for use in card making, collaging, book covering, and quilting.  Great fun and no experience necessary.

Please bring a large towel to cover your working area, some newspapers, a pair of rubber gloves, and a waterproof apron. If you have access to eucalyptus, maple, oak, rose, walnut, geranium or bramble leaves, plus onion skins, (red or white), please also bring these along.

*Please note, you won't be able to create effective eco prints with all leaves so just the leaves I have stated should be brought with you.
