Iris Top Pattern
Iris is from The Tempest. She is the ‘many coloured messenger’ of the Gods who is often portrayed as a rainbow, and is indeed referred to as the Goddess of the Rainbow.
Iris is the ‘rich scarf’ which that shows how nature can provide the bridge for humanity to solve its problems. Iris’ presence blesses the marriage between Miranda and Ferdinand which unites the two families after years of conflict.
The Iris Top is almost a tunic and could be lengthened if you so desire. The princess seams running down the over the bust allow for a better fit and make for easy adaptations too.
Version 1 has pretty flounces inserted into the vertical princess seams and they act as a faux sleeve to cover the tops of your arms.
Version 2 is a simpler more everyday top with an elegant Peter panCollar to finish off the neckline.
Cotton lawn, cotton poplin, linen, satin crepe, charmeuse, viscose rayon, lightweight needlecord.
