Learn to make a beautiful decorative Felt Bowl using unspun wool fibres, soap and water. This workshop is the perfect way to relax and enjoy a morning of creative calm!
In this session you will handle unspun wool fibres and place them over a flat resist. Using Penny's tried and tested 'confident flip' technique you will be able to draw the fibres over on the other side and fill them in. You will apply soap and water and repeat the process while being shown how to lay the wool in different ways to achieve maximum strength for your bowl.
You will learn a variety of techniques to agitate the fibres enabling them to
form a beautiful strong piece of felted fabric. You will also learn the correct time to remove the resist and turn your work into a three dimensional piece.
Your worked and rinsed piece can be used as a keys and change holder, for pot pourri or simply a delightful art piece. When dry your finished piece can be taken home and embroidered or needle felted onto. Penny will discuss the options and advise you before the end of the session.
Please bring an old towel and a waterproof carrier bag. Suitable for beginners or those who have felted before.
