Own one crochet hook but wondering if you need a second one to make something?!

Love the multi coloured crochet world but don't know where to start?

Used to Crochet when you were 8 years old but have never managed to get back into it?

This course will help with all those things and more. Starting with the basics of how to hold the hook and yarn, moving onto a foundation chain and then learning to crochet 'In the Round' to create a small basket that can be used as a small vase, pen pot or to collect Easter Eggs in! We will finish by learning an edge finishing stitch and weaving the ends in.

If you don’t get to complete a basket by the end of the session, you will have instructions and a hook to take home with you to finish.

We will also talk about different crochet terms, hooks and yarns- for the baskets we will be using T-Shirt jersey yarn, a by-product of the fashion industry.

This yarn does require a bit of strength in the wrists and hands to work with, if you struggle with any hand or wrist strength conditions, please let me know so I can bring a different yarn for you.

The answer is ‘No’ by the way, just one hook will do the job, that’s why it’s better than knitting!

Whats included in the workshop:

  • All materials, tools and equipment
  • A Crochet Hook and Darning Needle to take home
  • Printed instruction sheet
  • A link to a video demonstration of what you have learnt
  • 10% Discount in the onsite shop
  • Tea/Coffee

What you need to bring:

  • If you would like to use the basket as a small vase or pen pot, feel free to bring a small jam jar with you that we can fit inside it.

Skill Level:

  •  Beginner

About your Tutor:

Your Tutor Zarah Meherali has been playing with yarn for years, she began with simply drooling over yarn and eventually plucked up the courage to grab a hook and begin her journey from making giant tangles to making items that were both useful and attractive.

Zarah prefers to work in natural fibres with low environmental impact and carefully sources her yarn from ethical and local suppliers where possible.

These days Zarah is having a  bit of a hat phase and sells her Historically and Anatomically inaccurate hats via her online shop ‘Made by Zee’ on Numonday.
