Intro to Sewing 4 Week Evening Class (Feb 24, Mar 9, 16 & 23)

Let us set you on the way with your sewing journey with this Intro into Sewing workshop. Once you've done it you'll never look back!

This class is for complete beginners and for people that haven't used a sewing machine in a while. Come and join us for a series of four evening classes learning to sew with a machine at The Makers' Space, Longbarn Village, Alcester Heath, Alcester, BN49 5JJ

Week 1 Button up cushion
Starting with the basics we will show you how to thread up a machine, how to pin and cut fabric, sew straight and make a beautiful cushion with an envelope back and covered button.

Week 2 Throw it all in bag
Progressing on from Workshop 1 we will show you how to deal with curved seams, a patch pocket and how to sew in handles to create the perfect bag to throw everything into.

Week 3 Zippy make up bag
Develop your skills even further with a cute zippy makeup bag, where we will show you how to conquer zips and deal with under-stitching and linings.

Week 4 Needlebook
If you've been a super speedy sewer over the first three weeks then you might have time to sew yourself a pretty needlebook. You can try a few decorative techniques on this smaller project to start off your new sewing kit.

You get to keep the patterns for each project so you can make them again and again it in any fabric you like! All fabric and patterns are included in the cost of the workshop so you don't need to bring anything with you.

This class runs over a period of 4 weeks. For £185 You will receive 12 hours of sewing tuition making 3 or 4 of the items above, depending on ability. Please only book onto the first date for the full four week evening courses
